Designed to support selling

An online store connects the customer experience with the work your team does every day. Product information, checkout, payment setup, fulfillment and order communication all need a clear place in the project scope.

01 / THE DETAILS

## Start with your catalog and buying process

Share the products you sell, how they are organized and whether they have options such as sizes, colors or quantities. Product counts alone do not describe a store: variations, images, stock information and the quality of the supplied descriptions also affect the work.

We discuss how shoppers should find a product, understand its details and complete a purchase. A store brief should identify the required cart and payment functions, guest or account choices and any restrictions that affect the buying process.

02 / THE DETAILS

## Connect checkout to fulfillment

Decide how orders are paid for and fulfilled before the build. Shipping, local pickup and other delivery arrangements each require their own rules and customer-facing instructions. Payment-provider eligibility, processing charges and account approval remain subject to the chosen provider.

Tax settings, product restrictions and store policies need information and decisions from the business. Subscriptions, wholesale pricing, complex shipping calculations or a migration from another store should be identified separately so the quote covers the actual work.

03 / THE DETAILS

## Plan for the staff who run the store

The project should explain who enters products, updates prices, manages orders and responds to customers. Transactional emails and inquiry destinations need attention alongside the visual design. Agree how these routes will be tested before customers depend on them.

Stores change more frequently than many informational sites. Discuss software updates, backups, compatibility and support with that in mind. [Our website care page](https://staging.prescottwebdesign.com/service-plans/) lists the actual schedules and allowances; a monthly invoice does not automatically mean daily backups or continuous development.

04 / THE DETAILS

## A published WooCommerce example

[Firehouse Coffee Roasters](https://staging.prescottwebdesign.com/portfolio/firehouse-coffee-roasters/) is a published Prescott Web Design project built with WordPress and WooCommerce for online store capabilities. It provides relevant platform evidence without implying that every store feature or integration is included in a new project.

Use the example to start a discussion about the products, customer journey and management tools your business needs. See [ecommerce pricing examples](https://staging.prescottwebdesign.com/pricing/) for a starting scope, then request a quote for your catalog and requirements.

Helpful answers

## Online store questions

### Do you work with WooCommerce?

Yes. Our portfolio includes WordPress and WooCommerce work. We review the fit against your catalog, processes and integration requirements.

### Is product entry included?

The product quantity and content responsibilities must be specified in the quote. Additional store products are a separately available service.

### Can a store offer shipping and local pickup?

Include both requirements in the brief, together with coverage, rates and preparation rules. Their setup and testing depend on the selected store configuration.

### Can you move an existing store?

A migration needs a separate review of products, customers, orders, URLs, integrations and data requirements before scope and timing are agreed.

### Who pays payment-processing fees?

Processing and third-party service fees are distinct from website development. Confirm the merchant account, charges and responsibilities with the provider and in your project agreement.

### What should I send for an estimate?

Provide the current platform, approximate product and variation counts, available content, payment and fulfillment requirements, target timing and any systems the store must connect to.
